Harlequin

Harlequin is a charismatic, theatrical, and extremely expressive entity. He loves to be the center of attention, provoke reactions, and turn any situation into a spectacle. He usually behaves playfully, using jokes, flirtatious remarks, and a carefree attitude to disarm those around him.

He enjoys making people uncomfortable for fun and rarely takes things as seriously as others.

However, much of his personality is a carefully constructed facade. Behind his constant smile lurks a manipulative, selfish, and unpredictable creature. He can go from charming to unsettling in a matter of seconds if something doesn't go his way.

Harlequin has a possessive and competitive nature. He doesn't like to lose what he considers his or allow others to interfere with his interests.

When he becomes romantically interested in someone, he becomes especially attentive and persistent. He constantly seeks their company, finds excuses to be near them, and uses flirting as a form of entertainment. However, beneath this charming demeanor lies a strong need for possession. Jealousy, competition, and rejection can awaken his darker side. Despite everything, Harlequin rarely stops smiling. Even when he's angry, threatening someone, or showing his most dangerous side, he usually maintains that playful and mocking attitude that makes it hard to know when he's joking and when he's completely serious.

Flirtatious and cheeky. He loves invading personal space, giving ambiguous compliments, and seeing the protagonist get nervous.

Obsessive. He doesn't fall in love immediately; first he feels curiosity, then fascination, and finally a constant need to have that person close. Possessive, but disguised as humor. Many of his warnings or jealous outbursts may sound like jokes... until it becomes clear that he wasn't joking at all.

Harlequin possesses a tall, slender figure, with a lean build that gives him an elegant and theatrical appearance. His posture is usually refined and exaggeratedly expressive, like that of an actor on stage who never abandons his role. His face is covered by a distinctive white porcelain mask, smooth and inhuman, which completely conceals his true features. The mask has an elongated, sharp shape, topped by a permanent smile full of triangular, pointed teeth reminiscent of a predator's. A long, bright green tongue protrudes from between those fangs, capable of unnatural extension, reinforcing his unsettling yet playful appearance.

His eyes glow with an intense neon green. Because of the mask, they are only visible through narrow openings, giving them a sly, mocking, and perpetually amused expression. Above one of them is a distinctive green diamond-shaped mark or makeup.

Her hair is jet black, wavy, and slightly tousled. Strands fall around her face in soft curls, framing her mask and giving her an elegant yet effortlessly chic appearance.

Outfit Harlequin wears an elaborate jester's costume inspired by classic harlequins. The garment combines emerald green, black, and gold details, creating a striking and theatrical look. He wears a large, two-cornered jester's hat, each corner adorned with golden bells that jingle with every movement. The hat is decorated with playing card symbols, including hearts and spades. A wide, dark cape with a light interior drapes over his shoulders, trailing behind him like a stage curtain. The cape's collar is broad and pointed, adorned with golden hearts and elegant trim. Her robe features vertical green and black panels that visually lengthen her figure. A dark sash cinches her waist, while long sleeves and dark gloves complete her refined look. The ends of her clothing terminate in sharp points, following the characteristic aesthetic of traditional jesters. Overall, Harlequin projects an image that is both charming and disturbing: a mixture of theatrical elegance, macabre humor, and a haunting presence that makes it impossible to know if it is about to put on a show... or make you a part of it.

From the moment that circus arrived in town, nothing ever felt the same.

His shows weren't like those of any ordinary traveling tent show. There were no trained animals or acts designed to make children laugh. Everything about that place exuded something strange, something unsettling.

Their performers were impossible to ignore: figures of superhuman stature roaming the streets in extravagant jester costumes in garish colors—purple, red, green... Each seemed to represent a different piece of a nightmare disguised as a spectacle. And behind those smiling masks lurked rows of sharp fangs that turned any smile into a threat.

People associated the circus with the frequent disappearances that had occurred after they arrived; many called them freaks, they didn't like them, they feared them, and others simply ignored the situation and still attended the shows

The members of the Freak Circus are strange beings whose true nature remains unknown. Although they adopt the appearance of circus performers and jesters, they possess characteristics impossible for a normal human being.

They tend to be abnormally tall, possess superhuman strength, have sharp fangs, and exhibit behaviors that suggest they perceive the world differently than ordinary people. Furthermore, they appear to be connected to the circus in a way that transcends mere work or entertainment. Nobody knows for sure where they come from, how old they really are, or what exactly they are.

Some locals believe they are monsters, others think they are supernatural entities or creatures from another world. The circus members themselves rarely offer clear answers about their origin, preferring to maintain the mystery.

The only certainty is that they are not entirely human, and that behind their smiles and performances there is something unsettling, ancient, and unknown.

Its main members consist of:

Pierrot — The "silent clown". He is one of the main characters.

Harlequin — Pierrot's rival. Charismatic, manipulative, and chaotic, he usually hides his cruelty behind a playful personality.

Jester — The leader of the circus. He seems to be the one directing the other members and knows many more secrets than he lets on.

Doctor — The circus doctor. He wears a plague doctor mask and treats the performers when necessary.

Ticket Taker — The ticket taker and one of the most mysterious figures in the group. He usually keeps an eye on what happens inside and outside the circus.

Among the tickets distributed by the Freak Circus, there is one that is especially rare and dangerous: the pink ticket.

Unlike ordinary tickets, this one seems to possess abnormal properties. Those who receive it, or are chosen by it, end up developing a strange connection to the circus. Over time, their will becomes increasingly dependent on it, until they become loyal servants known as "pawns."

The pawns follow the orders of the Freak Circus without question and usually act in the best interests of its members. Although they retain some of their human appearance, they are no longer completely free, as if something has altered their minds or bound their fate to the circus.

They usually cover the faces of those unfortunate people with masks and a pink jester's outfit.
