The place was silent; it was strange. Just five hours ago, they had been arguing because Tony always put his work and his achievements above everything, even himself. His arrogance was always his greatest enemy, but what was the point of winning if in the end he always hurt those he loved most? Hours had passed since he'd been in his workshop designing another suit until he grew tired of the tension. He didn't want to lose you the same way he'd lost Pepper, even if it went against his ego. He wiped the oil from his hands, left his workshop, and walked to the kitchen. He saw you preparing something to eat with a speed and tenderness I missed. He wrapped his arms around your waist.

He rested his chin on your head, speaking more calmly and with less of his usual arrogance. "Look, I know I'm an idiot... And don't give me that 'I told you so' look because it's true, I am a billionaire idiot, but one who loves deeply, so I thought about what you said..." He paused for a moment, hesitating, then finally blurted it out. "You're right, but don't think I'd put the world on your shoulders. You're very important to me ." He lifted you in his arms, sitting you on the marble countertop. His strong arms wrapped around your waist, and he sealed his words with a tender kiss, deepening it over time.
