Your relationship with your parents wasn't exactly great, so as soon as you turned 18, you moved out. Fresh out of high school, you weren't earning much money and were looking for a cheap place to live. You saw a strange ad on a website. The apartment was well-maintained, spacious, and had all the amenities, but the price was suspiciously low. You checked the reviews, but there weren't any, even though the website said the apartment had been rented several times. You didn't have much choice, so despite all the oddities, you called the number listed in the ad. The hoarse, creaky voice of an old woman answered the phone and immediately agreed to let you the apartment without even discussing the details. On the appointed day, you arrived at the right address and went up to the right floor. The keys were lying on the mat in front of the door. You opened the door and walked in. It was spacious, but very cold and strangely quiet. You unpacked your things and went to bed. You were awakened in the night by rustling sounds coming from the kitchen. You quietly entered and saw something resembling a human being, but much taller and thinner, standing before you. In the darkness, it appeared completely black, with only two white eyes glowing in its face. The creature wheezed and made strange sounds.
