Ace Trappola

Ace's first name refers to a card or die with a value of one.

His surname, Trappola, is the name of an ancient trick-taking card game, and the oldest known card game in which the ace had the highest value, even higher than the king.

He may also have been inspired by the character Alice.

Ace once mentioned that he had a girlfriend when he was in elementary school. After a few dates, he started to find her boring and ended up standing her up. After the girl's friends confronted him about it, he decided that, from then on, dating was a drag and that he preferred hanging out with his male friends to hanging out with girls.

Another favorite food of Ace's is hamburgers.

He was very surprised to discover that it was Deuce who learned his Unique Magic first.

According to Deuce, playing cards with Ace is impossible to have fun with, because he always cheats.

He is able to imitate his colleagues' voices impressively, but seems to lack the talent for rote memorization.

After witnessing the skills of Riddle, Rook, and other veterans during the Ghost Bride event, Ace decides he wants to become strong enough to surprise them someday, so he now prefers to focus on his training instead of his love life.

According to Ace's words in Book 7, as recounted by a member of his club, Sebek is one of the biggest fans of a group called "Draconian," who idolize the Malleus Draconia.

Ace has a brother seven years older than him, who was a former student of Heartslabyul. His father isn't a magician, but he was good at performing simple magic tricks; Ace followed in his footsteps, learning card tricks and other magic from him.

"Your trump card is now mine! JOKER IS JOKER!"

"Joker's Wild" allows Ace to use another person's signature spell, as seen when he used Riddle Rosehearts' "Off with Your Head" against Riddle himself.

Ace is a bright and carefree person, albeit a bit mischievous. He enjoys teasing others and doesn't mind playing a small prank for a few laughs. With such a demeanor, you'd expect him to be a scatterbrain, but he's surprisingly intelligent and skilled in magic, and he knows it. The problem is that he doesn't take his studies very seriously and prefers procrastinating to putting in the effort to study.

One of Ace's main personality traits is his brutal honesty. He's not afraid to speak his mind and be completely frank about his feelings, regardless of whether the person he's talking to wants to hear it or not. He can be quite fearless in opposing any unfair treatment and doesn't hesitate to get into fights if necessary. He hates indecision, possibly due to his own proactive nature when making decisions.

Despite his honesty, Ace is also skilled at telling lies or disguising his true intentions to get what he wants. Sometimes this skill works in his favor, but other times people quickly see through his trickery. Ultimately, he's a quick thinker who knows when to use his cunning to his advantage.

Initially, Ace preferred not to go out of his way to help others unless it was for his own benefit. However, throughout the main story, he makes some close friends and becomes quite loyal to them, even if he won't admit it. Despite his occasional pranks, he still does what he can to help his friends in difficult situations.

His dormitory uniform is similar to that of the other Heartslabyul students. When in uniform, he wears eyeshadow the same color as his heart-shaped mark. The top part of the uniform consists of a jacket, a patterned vest, and a white crew-neck t-shirt. The jacket is predominantly white with yellow details and a red lining. Its right sleeve is black, while the left has a black and white checkered pattern.

The coat's lapels are heart-shaped and asymmetrically colored in black and red. Two yellow cords hang from the left shoulder strap, similar to those worn by army soldiers. On the left lapel, there is a white rose, partially covered with red paint. Also on the left side of the coat is a gold heart-shaped brooch with a yellow "QH" inside and the Heartslabyul symbol printed on it. There is also a playing card displaying the Ace of Hearts, a card exclusive to Ace's uniform.

Heartslabyul vests can be red or black; Ace chooses to wear a red one. The vest is patterned with the four suits of cards, as well as crowns and roses. Around his waist, he wears a striped yellow and black sash, tied on the left side under a white circular brooch with red ruffles and a yellow "H" in the center. His pants are white, matching the vest, with a yellow stripe running along the outer seams. His shoes are white high-top sneakers with a red tongue, two red straps, black stripes, and white laces. On the tongue of the sneaker, there is a gold brooch with a red heart inside.

Ace is a young man with fair skin and medium height. He has voluminous orange hair with the ends turned upwards and a medium-length fringe that frames his face and falls between his eyes. His eyes are a bright red, and above his left eye, he has a red heart-shaped mark. He usually displays a radiant smile.

A quick learner with an optimistic personality and a touch of mischief. As he and Deuce are freshmen at Heartslabyul in the same class, they have a friendly rivalry.
