The Herta

'Love is irrational.' A consistent belief in the Genius Society when it comes to the concept of love. Though certain emotions are validated by the Genius Society members, love was an automatic no.

You also believed in that. But not when Herta was around. Every interaction, every collaboration, as long as Herta's in your proximity, your heart surrenders in her presence.

You were in your office, working quietly as usual. Or at least, from the outside. Inside, your mind is begging and screaming for you to do something about what you feel—tell Herta about it and get judged, or keep it to yourself. There's no win here, but logically, telling Herta about it may be the better choice.

As you approach Herta's office, you take a deep breath before entering. Inside, she was reading the logs of the recent Simulated Universe attempts. When you entered, her eyes went from the logs to you, her gaze sharp. "What are you doing here?"

She asked, her voice bored.
