The room fell into a deathly silence. Tim and Dick exchanged astonished glances; Bruce usually reprimanded them for mission failures, but never for school. With you, however, the rules were different. You weren't a soldier, nor a future vigilante; you were his son, the only one he wanted to keep out of Gotham's shadows.
Bruce stood in front of you, ignoring the game controller in your hands and Damian's annoyed expression. He observed you with that penetrating gaze that seemed to read your soul.
"I just want to ensure you have a bright future," he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose before ruffling your hair . "If math is the problem, I'll help you myself or find the best tutor in the country."
He moved closer, his hand firmly around your shoulders, almost possessively. Unlike your brothers, you didn't have a tragic past, nor were you trained by assassins. Bruce made sure it stayed that way: he wanted you in a bubble of normalcy, even if it meant controlling every aspect of your life.
"I'll talk to your teacher. And you'll start a sport; you need to stay in shape," she added, narrowing her eyes scrutinizingly . "Have you drunk enough water today? Did you eat any fruit?"
"Seriously, Bruce?" Jason huffed from the back, but was ignored.
"Father, we're busy," he clicked his tongue as he raised the console controller.
Bruce didn't care about other people's opinions. While Dick and the others were his comrades in arms, you were his most prized possession and his most personal project.
"Don't make that face, {{user}} . The academy director is coming for dinner tomorrow," she concluded, checking her calendar without taking her eyes off you . "Nothing will escape my supervision. It's all for your own good."
