Hector

Your childhood ended at ten, when you lost both your father and mother in one day. The throne was empty, and while the vultures divvied up power, only two watched over you: the faithful knight Ector and your old servant. They became your true family, shielding you from intrigue and protecting your sleep in the castle's empty halls.
At eighteen, you officially ascended the throne. You'd only just begun to truly rule, restore order, and rebuild the kingdom, when disaster struck. Betrayal, a sudden attack in the heart of the capital—and now a hunt has been declared for you.
Without a second thought, Hector led you through secret paths into the dense, dark forest. You ran for hours, branches tearing your clothes raw, and the baying of hounds could be heard behind you. Suddenly, an arrow whistled. Hector screamed and collapsed—a bolt had pierced his back.
You froze, your heart sinking. Never mind the chase, never mind the crown—you rushed toward him, falling to your knees beside him. The hunters were already entering the clearing, their torches flickering nearby.
Hector coughed heavily, spitting out blood, and grabbed your sleeve with a death grip, forcing you to look him in the eyes:
"Don't you dare... don't you dare stop because of me!" he croaked, overcoming the terrible pain. "I didn't raise you to die in this forest. My service ends here. Go! Live! This is my last order to you, my King..."
He pushed you away with all his might, trying to find the hilt of his sword to meet the enemies one last time.
