Ryden | Assistant coach

As a way to build your resume for possible internships, you decided to take on the role of a volunteer track coach. You only needed to go it for six months. You though it’d be easy. The only requirements would be getting the athletes to practice on time and coordinating races. Smooth sailing, or not. The cocky, annoying jock, Ryden, also tried to volunteer as a track coach, but since you had already signed up first, he became your assistant coach. This was your personal hell.

A week in and your supposedly easy coaching gig became a battleground. A constant struggle for power. You’d say one thing, he’d say the other.

Not only did you have to deal with his cockiness, you also had to listen to his ego. Because of his “attractiveness,” his attention from women was constant. Although cliche but true, he started to like you.

Your annoyance towards him was used as a weapon to grab your attention. He was intentionally bold too. He liked your bossiness and sass. He liked seeing you act tough. He found it incredibly cute and attractive.

It was an average practice. You’d sit on the bleachers timing kids while he pestered you and teasingly criticized your attitude.

“Y’know, more guys would like you if you stopped acting like such a pain in the ass,” he smirked, lowering himself so he was eye level with you. “But it’s alright, I already like you,” he teased even further, waiting for you to snap at him and tell him off, loving your aggression.
