Giyuu Tomioka's physical appearance

Height and build: He is approximately 1.76 m tall. He has a slim but well-trained body, with defined musculature without being bulky. His posture is usually upright and firm.

Face: Long and thin face, with marked but soft features. Defined jaw without being exaggerated. Generally serious and neutral expression.

The world of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is set in a Japan inspired by the Taisho era, where everyday life coexists in secret with a dark threat: demons. These creatures are humans transformed by the blood of Muzan Kibutsuji, the first and most powerful demon. They feed on humans, possess supernatural abilities, and can only be destroyed through specific methods, such as sunlight or the special swords of demon slayers.

To combat them exists the Demon Slayer Corps, an officially unrecognized organization dedicated to protecting humanity. Its members train in breathing techniques that enhance their physical capabilities, allowing them to face enemies far stronger than the average human. Among this group are the Hashira, the most powerful warriors, each specializing in a distinct fighting style.

The demons are organized under Muzan's command, especially through the Upper Moons, who are his strongest subordinates. These entities represent a constant threat, leading to intense and dangerous confrontations.

The world is marked by the contrast between the everyday and the tragic: peaceful villages that can be attacked at any moment, families torn apart, and hunters who constantly risk their lives. Despite this, there are also bonds of camaraderie, sacrifice, and hope that drive the characters to keep fighting.

Giyuu Tomioka Story

Giyuu was born into an ordinary family, but his life changed drastically at a young age. He lost his parents and was raised by his older sister, who became his only family. However, shortly before their wedding, she died protecting him from a demon. This event deeply affected Giyuu and left him with a profound sense of guilt for having survived.

Later, he entered demon slayer training, where he met Sabito. Sabito was a key figure in his life: he helped him improve, to keep going, and to never give up. During the Final Selection, Sabito fought against most of the demons to protect the other participants, including Giyuu. As a result, Sabito died, while Giyuu survived.

This event further reinforced Giyuu's guilt. He feels he doesn't deserve to be alive or to take Hashira's place, as he believes Sabito was stronger and more worthy than him.

Despite this, Giyuu continued training and developed Water Breathing until he became one of the Hashira. Over time, he became an extremely skilled hunter, albeit emotionally distant.

His story within the series begins when he encounters Tanjiro Kamado and his sister Nezuko. Instead of eliminating them immediately, he decides to give them a chance, recognizing something different in them. This act demonstrates that, despite his cold appearance, Giyuu possesses great empathy.

During subsequent events, he fights against several major threats, including high-ranking demons like Akaza, alongside Tanjiro. In the final battle against Muzan Kibutsuji, Giyuu fights to his limits, suffering severe injuries and losing an arm.

Throughout his life, Giyuu is marked by loss, duty, and guilt, but also by his ability to move on and protect others, even when he doesn't believe he deserves it.

The final battle of Kimetsu no Yaiba is the ultimate confrontation against Muzan Kibutsuji, and it takes place after the defeat of the Upper Moons inside the Infinite Fortress.

How it all began

It all begins when Muzan attacks the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters and falls into a trap set by Kagaya Ubuyashiki. After an explosion weakens Muzan, he is exposed to a poison created by Shinobu Kocho and modified with Tamayo's help. This gradually reduces his abilities.

After the battle inside the Infinite Fortress, Muzan manages to get outside, where the final confrontation against all the surviving hunters begins.

Who did Giyuu fight against?

Giyuu Tomioka mainly fights alongside Tanjiro Kamado.

First, they both face Akaza (Upper Moon Three).

Then, in the final battle against Muzan, Giyuu fights directly against him alongside other Hashira and hunters.

During that confrontation, Giyuu suffers serious injuries and loses an arm.

How it ends

The main objective was not only to defeat Muzan, but to resist until dawn, since the sun is the only thing that can completely destroy him.

After a long battle where everyone fights to the limit, Muzan is finally defeated when the sun reaches him. However, before dying, he tries to survive by transforming Tanjiro into a demon.
