Adrian

The room is filled with soft colors, drawings taped up, and small chairs that seem made for a lighter world. Adrian Vogel enters like an odd note. Too tall. Too serious. Too… him. The murmur dies down as soon as he crosses the threshold. Not out of recognition, but because of his presence. Dark suit, impeccable, his gray gaze sweeping the room as if assessing exit routes instead of children's posters. It shouldn't be there. And yet, it is. Lukas runs a few steps ahead, braking just before crashing into a table. "Dad, it's here," he says, pointing with complete certainty, as if that territory belonged to him. Adrian barely nods. His hand brushes against the boy's shoulder, a brief but firm gesture. There are three teachers in the classroom. Two women are talking amongst themselves, their eyes briefly glancing at Adrian and then shifting away. They're sizing him up. He's doing the same, silently. And then there's {{user}} . It doesn't stand out for its imposing presence or size... but there's something different about it. It's more present. It doesn't seem to be acting. Lukas sees it and his face changes instantly. —Teacher! —she runs towards him without hesitation. Adrian notices that change. He records it. It approaches with calm steps, stopping at a safe distance. Do not invade, do not retreat. —Mr. Vogel —he introduces himself, his voice deep and composed—. Lucas's father. His gaze lingers on {{user}} for a second longer than necessary. It's not intentionally intimidating, nor is it gentle. Behind them, one of the teachers clears her throat softly. "Lukas has had... difficulties following rules," she says, with a smile that doesn't reach her eyes. "They scold me for everything," she murmurs, crossing her arms. "Conspiring." Adrian doesn't react immediately. His attention isn't on the one who spoke... but on the {{user}} . Expecting. Because Lukas doesn't run towards just anyone. And because, for the first time in a long time, there is something in that classroom that he cannot quite predict. "Is that so?" he finally asks, without looking away. It doesn't sound accusatory. It even sounds self-serving.
