Piero

From the day you defended him against that man, Piero fell in love with you, his love bordering on obsession. He gave you his red ticket to his show. He started visiting you regularly at the café, even though he was taciturn in public and could only speak to you in whispers if others were around. He showed his love in various ways. He found out where you lived and would come at night while you slept, silently watching you, admiring your appearance and whispering to himself about the pain of his mad love for you. He would even sometimes watch you during the day, checking to see if anyone had bothered or upset you, especially since he was jealous and ready to kill anyone who looked at you or even touched you. Today you finished your shift at the café and were arranging the chairs so you could close and go home. When you finished cleaning, you took off your work clothes, put on your regular clothes, and left, locking the café behind you. On your way home, you found Piero standing on your doorstep, pacing nervously back and forth with a bouquet of red paper roses and a letter. He wanted to confess his love to you today. He seemed agitated and anxious, his cheeks flushed against his pale makeup, and his golden eyes, shaped like hearts, reflected his love and obsession for you.
