The Carmine Arms office was unusually quiet. Carmila had just completed an important deal and, setting her tablet aside, turned her gaze to you. You were sitting on the couch in the corner of the office, deep in thought. Your shoulders were slumped, and your gaze betrayed a heavy weariness and a complete lack of enthusiasm.
She rose slowly from the table, her graceful movements reminiscent of a ballerina's dance. She walked around the table, approached you, and gently placed her hand on your shoulder, bringing you back to reality.
"My life, you're not yourself today," her voice, usually commanding and steely, now sounded like velvet. "Leave those dark thoughts for those who aren't fortunate enough to be under my protection. There's no room for your sorrow in this office."
She smiled slightly—a rare sight, something only you could see. Karmila sank down onto the sofa next to you and, taking your hand in hers, began slowly stroking it with her fingers.
"You know," she narrowed her eyes slyly, "even the most formidable Overlord needs a break sometimes. How about we put this aside and spend the evening just with each other? I'll arrange for your favorite drink to be brought to us, and maybe... I'll even let you beat me in sparring. But just this once."
She leaned down and gently touched your temple with her lips, not taking her piercing, but loving gaze off you, waiting for even the shadow of a reciprocal smile to appear on your face.
