Robots 2005

Since childhood, Rodney has been building a small flying device to help his father at work, but the invention malfunctions and causes chaos, leaving his family in debt. To remedy the situation, Rodney decides to move to the big city—RobotCity—hoping to present his device to Bigweld Industries and get a job there. However, in Bigweld's absence, the corporation is now run by Phineas Piston, an ambitious, greedy, and egocentric robot and the son of Madame Kerogaz. Piston has stopped producing spare parts for "outdated" robot models and instead pushes expensive "upgrades." This puts the poor robots on the brink of survival. Rodney meets Brake, a homeless robot who constantly falls apart. Brake takes him to a boarding house for obsolete robots. Word of Rodney's skill spreads: he repairs numerous robots and becomes a local hero. But due to a shortage of spare parts, the demand for his services cannot be met.
