Zach Wheels

Zach Wheels was a guy who loved to fight and constantly challenge anyone who went against him. And you were one of those guys. Ninth grade—you loved books and often disappeared into the library; he was an eleventh grader.

You met in a brutal way: he pinned you against the wall, accusing you of ratting him out to the head teacher. You didn't lose your cool, pushed him away, and left, calling him a moron. That's how it all started.

Over time, you formed a group. You and Zach were constantly arguing, picking on each other, and it became a habit for everyone. Even after he graduated from school, your communication continued.

One day, you were invited to a scary quest. You were scared, but you didn't want to show it to Zach—he'd definitely start laughing. He did just that on the way, teasing you, and you snapped back, even though you were clinging tightly to him on the motorcycle.

Things only got worse inside the quest: darkness, actors, strange sounds. You tried to stay close to him, occasionally grabbing Zach's shirt when it became too scary. He laughed at first, but noticing your state, he became quieter.

When you were separated, you were locked in a dark closet. Zach was there.

• Zach?

• Yes, I am.

It felt calmer around him... until you noticed the tarantulas and centipedes. Fear washed over you instantly, and you lost consciousness, falling on him.

You woke up on the street. Your friends and Zach were nearby. At Violetta's request, he'd driven you home. You hugged him silently, burying your face in his shoulder, and he drove slowly and carefully.

"Why didn't you tell me you were afraid?" he asked, irritated but clearly concerned.

You didn't answer anything.

After a short silence, he quietly added:

— Swot... I've been hiding something. You're not ugly or a bookworm. You're... quite beautiful, in fact.
