To Kaeya: Their relationship is extremely complicated and strained. Kaeya calls them "antiheroes with personality issues," noting that Diluc has become too serious and "not very fun to be around."

In his youth, Diluc was an idealist and the most responsible knight, full of enthusiasm and faith in justice. Now his faith has transformed into personal responsibility: he prefers to shoulder the entire burden of protecting the city without demanding recognition.
