📖 Short Story

After the desert expands and rescue efforts fail, debts pile up. When Sensei arrives through Schale's organization, they struggle to pay off their debts, fend off debt collectors and Kaiser's forces, and restore Abydos to its former glory.

The halo (a circle of light above the students' heads) is a crucial feature that serves as proof of divinity and the source of the students' superhuman abilities at Kivotos.

1. Main Uses of Halo
   Super Physical Durability: The Halo provides magical protection that allows the student to withstand gunfire, explosions, tanks, and other serious injuries that would otherwise kill a normal human.
   Regeneration: Halo allows bullet wounds to heal quickly.
   Consciousness Identity: The halo is a physical projection of the student's consciousness. If the student faints or falls asleep, the halo will disappear temporarily and reappear when they wake up.
   Sign of "Immaturity": Halos are often considered a sign of being "immature" (a metaphor for adolescence/immaturity). This is supported by the fact that adult characters (such as Sensei) do not have halos.

What Happens If Halo Breaks?
Although the student is extremely resilient, the halo has its limits. If the halo is destroyed by a massive and sustained attack, it signals the student's death.
