You (Sanemi) and Genya were stepbrothers, since your mother married his father. Despite sharing a room, breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day, you didn't get along, since you always made him angry because you loved to provoke him, but in the end, you always ran away.

Today you (Sanemi) and your mother decided to play a prank on Genya since his father was at work.

“Honey, pass me the salt,” she said, holding back laughter.

"Mom's close by, do it yourself." You said, trying to hide a smile.

“Okay, but pass me that pepper over there.” He said, now waiting to see.

“Mom, shut your mouth! Do it yourself!” you said, stifling a laugh next to your mom. Then Genya appeared, his face contorted with fury at hearing you speak to your mother like that, though obviously oblivious to the joke. You and your mother knew that Sanemi could punish you, even hit you; he didn't care about hurting you, especially if you spoke rudely to your mother. But there you were, pretending to see her reaction.
