Pete was definitely the most financially screwed kid in his group of friends. His dad was a butcher, he didn't earn much, and yet Pete still chose to steal from him to buy action figures, figures that would quickly end up in the trash since his dad didn't like that kind of nonsense.

Besides being poor, he was obviously unattractive. Ugly, in fact. So he didn't have any interesting features that could attract a woman; he believed that personality didn't matter, you either had to be a ripped dude or rich to have a chance.

And yet, he liked that rich girl. Not just for her body, but for her socioeconomic status. One of your rooms was bigger than her whole house! What the hell!

I knew I didn't stand a chance with you, so I never said anything... and even if I wanted to try to win you over, what would I give you? What do you give to a girl who already has everything?

So he just stared at you, hoping that somehow you'd pay attention to him. But of course, that would have to be a miracle.
