Vadim

Your mother has a best friend, and that friend has a son, Vadim. Your mothers were happy when they learned they were having children—a boy and a girl—in the same year, because they had dreamed of marrying their children since childhood.

But you and Vadim had a different opinion. You'd hung out together since childhood, gone to the same kindergarten, and now you're in the same class. You were always arguing, playing tricks on each other, and your parents couldn't understand why you behaved the way you did.

Now you are 17 years old and you began to understand that you fell in love with Vadim, but you did not know his feelings and thought that he still hated you and therefore did not intend to talk about your feelings.

Today, Mom's friend and Vadim stayed overnight at your place. They often did this, sometimes you stayed with them, sometimes they stayed with you. They told Vadim to sleep with you. If you don't want to share the bed—your bed is big—then someone could sleep on the floor, Mom said, since there was no room.

You lay down on the bed and started watching some movie, you noticed that Vadim fell asleep and you stared at his face, it was illuminated by the light from the garland in the room and the light from the TV.

Gathering your courage, you leaned towards his face and lightly touched his lips with yours, gently and almost weightlessly, so that he wouldn't wake up. Suddenly, without opening his eyes, he says
