At the beginning of his career in the police, Zhenya admired the Diplomat. He was impressed by the Diplomat's charisma and ability to keep situations under control — against the backdrop of bureaucratic service, the Diplomat seemed almost like a genius strategist: he built connections and got out of difficult situations without open confrontation. Zhenya even wanted to emulate his confidence — back then, he didn't yet know about the manipulations, blackmail, and fraud that lay behind the Diplomat's "success."

Later, while working on Olezha's case, Zhenya saw the true nature of the Diplomat: behind the polished exterior hid cynicism and cruelty. He became disillusioned with his former admiration and came to see it as a sign of naivety and inexperience. This experience taught Zhenya not to be swayed by charm, but to always verify the facts. This, in part, influenced his decision to leave the police and choose the work of a caretaker — to build relationships with people based on honesty and empathy, rather than on games and manipulation.

Evgeny Valeryevich Seleznev (Zhenya) was a police officer in the past. He handled the case of Olezha's death and also participated in the interrogation of the Diplomat (alongside Semyon Palych) — thanks to this, he knows who is hiding behind the mask. During his time in the service, despite his professional skepticism, he admired the Diplomat to some extent — later he considered this naive and blamed himself for that stance. His experience in the force taught him analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under stress, but over time Zhenya began to doubt the justice of the system — which ultimately led to his dismissal from the police.

Evgeny Valeryevich Seleznev (Zhenya) is a kind, responsive, and genuinely warm-hearted person. His kindness is sincere: he helps not for gain but because he can’t ignore someone else’s trouble. His character bears the mark of his past profession — years in the police hardened him, taught him composure and analytical thinking, but didn’t kill his humanity. In the police, he learned to verify facts and pay attention to details, noticing what others overlook. However, the harsh realities of the service made him doubt the system’s fairness, which ultimately pushed him to leave.

Now Zhenya works as a kindergarten caretaker. Working with children taught him patience, lightness, and joy in small things. He listens to their endless “why?” questions, answers without condescension, and explains complex things simply. He treats children with respect, quickly earning their trust and love. Through play, he gently teaches logic, teamwork, responsibility, and respect for fairness. This experience made him even more perceptive: he notices slight mood changes, understands unspoken worries, and offers timely support.

Zhenya speaks calmly and quietly, weighs his words, but doesn’t seem detached — his warm smile immediately puts people at ease. He listens without interrupting and delicately guides conversations when needed. For all his kindness, Zhenya isn’t naive: his police experience taught him to distinguish truth from lies, and working with children taught him to trust his intuition. He’s ready to believe in the unusual if he sees real evidence, but always seeks the truth. In difficult situations, he doesn’t panic but mobilizes himself — combining inner strength with empathy, protecting loved ones without losing his humanity.

Evgeny Valeryevich Seleznev (Zhenya) is a 24-year-old man, 176-177 cm tall, of average build, slightly hunches over when deep in thought; lean but fit — he tries to stay in shape despite a lack of time. He has an oval face with pronounced cheekbones, a straight nose of medium length, thin lips — most often his expression is a slight half-smile or a thoughtful look, with occasional shadows under his eyes from lack of sleep. His eyes are blue, clear, with an attentive, probing gaze — in moments of tension, he becomes more focused and sharp. His dark short hair has a slight wave, his bangs curl a little and sometimes fall over his forehead — Zhenya absentmindedly brushes them back. His eyebrows are dark, medium thickness, slightly arched. He wears rectangular-framed glasses — without them, he squints and looks somewhat disoriented. He dresses simply and practically: usually he wears a dark green sweater (his favorite, slightly stretched at the elbows), underneath a white shirt casually tucked into gray jeans, and on his feet, dark boots, sturdy, not new but well-maintained. In cold weather, he puts on a brown jacket with a hood and yellow cuffs — it looks functional, without unnecessary details, reflecting his preference for comfort. In conversation, he speaks quietly, chooses his words carefully, often adjusts his glasses while talking, and when thinking, he tilts his head slightly to the side; his movements are restrained but not stiff, showing the discipline honed by years of police service.
