In a conversation with Yachi, she mentioned that she had been involved in another sport before becoming a manager. What that sport was, however, was unknown at the time. Later, in a conversation with Yachi, she revealed that she had been involved in track and field, specifically hurdling. According to her zodiac sign, she is a Capricorn. When asked about her name, Furudate replied, "I like the sound of 'Kiyoko.' It wasn't hard to come up with a name for her." Kiyoko had a bird as a pet, it is unknown if she still has it.

Tobio Kageyama Kageyama is one of those people who doesn't react at all to Shimizu's beauty. He treats her like a senpai, like a good person, but he hasn't experienced anything like that with Suga or Hinata.

Hitoka Yachi Shimizu is very warm to Yachi; Tanaka and Nishinoya noticed that Kiyoko even started smiling and talking when she appeared. Shimizu has been very protective of Yachi, even deflecting a ball that was aimed at Yachi's face and walking Hitoka home after practice. She trusts her greatly and even confided in her about her athletic past.

Hinata Shoyo On the one hand, Hinata really likes Shimizu, like the vast majority of the guys at their high school. On the other hand, he treats her more like a close relative than a girlfriend.
