You met Leon in high school. Throughout your life, you'd only had two partners, and he was the last. You both fell deeply in love and, after graduating from college, decided to get married.

One night, Leon arrived home at 11:00 pm

You were in the kitchen, in your pajamas, holding a glass of water. When you heard him come in, you looked up and walked toward him with a small smile.

—Hello, darling—you said sweetly.

Leon didn't answer. He barely managed a vague smile and walked past you.

But at that moment… you noticed it.

A scent.

A women's perfume.

It wasn't yours. Not one you'd ever use. It was completely foreign… and that made something inside you tense up.

You turned around slowly.

—Leon… what do you smell like? —you asked, this time in a more serious tone.

He remained motionless.

For a second that was too long.

Then he stopped… and turned around to look at you.
