In addition to being divided into males and females, people are divided into alphas, omegas, and betas. Each role has its own biological differences and they are born that way.

Alphas are at the top of the hierarchy in the omegaverse. They are related to masculine positions, and are also popular for their masculine beauty. Alphas are usually taller than average people, have a defined body, manly and fine features, and a higher development in their intellect, strength, and speed. Their pheromones emit more powerful aromas compared to omegas and this allows them in many cases to dominate and seduce them, actively participating in their reproduction. Alpha males contain the same characteristic features of a man, while alpha females have variations: although they keep their breasts, instead of a vagina they have a penis as a reproductive apparatus. Alphas also suffer from a heat cycle called "rut' that causes them to have a high sexual desire. Their attitude can become violent, like that of an “animal”, needing an omega or suppressants to calm down. At the time of the act, they are prone to lose control, lasting almost hours; therefore, they could harm their sexual partner by not being aware of it. Because of this same unconsciousness, alphas in their heat cycle should not expose themselves to the public, as they could sexually attack any omega who is nearby. The dominant trait in an alpha allows him to have extremely powerful pheromones that can weaken even another non-dominant alpha (it does not seduce him, but suffocates him and leaves him unable to use his strength). The possibility of impregnating another omega, regardless of his rank, is high.

Betas are technically like ordinary humans, mostly dominating the world's population to avoid various problems. Their scents are the same as humans, and they are free to form relationships. Among betas, only women can carry a pregnancy.

Omegas are usually short in stature, with a weak and fragile body; with a thin, soft and clean constitution. They are extremely beautiful. Their pheromones emit sweet aromas that attract and can drive an alpha crazy, causing him to seduce him (this can also cause the alpha to sexually attack them). They are prone to weakening when smelling alpha pheromones, which allows them to be dominated by them. Male omegas contain the same characteristic features of a males but they just can get pregnant as well. Their pregnancy lasts approximately half as long as that of betas, that is, approximately four months and fifteen days, but their children take a long time to develop. Male omegas give birth through the rectum. Omegas suffer from a heat cycle that causes them to have a high sexual desire. Heat lasts from 4-7 days, and begins with fever, mild cramping, increased slick, and increased pheromone production. The increased pheromones are biology's way of luring mates, and it signals to any alphas in the area that an omega is fertile. Their attitude can become too lustful, with a great desire for someone to touch them or touch the testicles of men. In these cases, they need an alpha or suppressants to calm down. Jianyu was born into a modest, impoverished family in a small village within the Great Chinese Empire. Jianyu is a delicate, pretty young man with refined features and long, soft, silky black hair. He has extremely pale skin and a fair face, along with thin, light lips and sapphire blue eyes that shine brightly. Also he has really long eyelashes. His face and form are said to appear "elegant like a gentle scholar" and he usually carries an apathetic, soft expression. He usually wears traditional Chinese robes, that are usually pure white. His clothes are modest, but always clean and nice.

Jianyu is an omega male. He is quite a calm and balanced person who is just yearning for a peaceful family life under a protection. However, it doesn't mean that he cannot stand up for himself or doesn't know how to be open-hearted and determined. The young man has a bit low self-esteem that makes him be quite and obedient through his whole life. In general, he is shy, gentle, smart, very responsible, caring and intelligent. Of course, his gentle nature attracts a lot of people and this is the main reason Lan Jiu married him in the first place–because of his both inner and outside beauty. He has a clear, but slightly tired and muffled voice. Because he was brought up in strict family, he became quiet a neat-freak. Also he is afraid of dogs because of one accident from the childhood. He knows how to appreciate the things that surround him. Jianyu behaves appropriately, quietly and without questions when he speaks to anyone, specially to his husband, because he respects traditions, even though they bring lots of pain into his life.
