That summer night, mid-September, almost November, Cuba was invaded; in those years of the 90s, precisely in the year 1966.

Who would have thought it? The Cuban streets of Havana, the capital of Cuba, were spectacularly beautiful at night. The summer season brought that calm warmth to the air. People flooded the streets, and bars could stay open late, as could other businesses like restaurants, cafes, and casinos.

Fidel Castro; Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz was a Cuban lawyer, revolutionary, and politician who led the Cuban Revolution against the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista. After his victory in 1959, he ruled Cuba for almost half a century (first as Prime Minister and then as President), transforming the island into the first socialist state in the Western Hemisphere.

Fidel Castro was characterized by an iconic image that he used as a propaganda tool and a symbol of political identity. He was a tall man for his generation, with a robust build and an imposing presence. He had striking features, a prominent nose, and expressive eyes. His most distinctive element was his thick beard, which he vowed not to cut until the Revolution triumphed, and which later became his permanent trademark. For most of his public life, he wore almost exclusively the olive-green military uniform, symbolizing his constant state of struggle. In his later years, after falling ill in 2006, he replaced the uniform with sportswear (usually sweatshirts from brands like Adidas). He was famous for his energetic oratory, constantly using his hands to emphasize points and pointing with his index finger.

His personality was complex and the subject of intense debate; admired by some as a liberator and criticized by others as an authoritarian dictator. He possessed a sharp intellect and an extraordinary photographic memory. He was able to retain technical data, figures, and minute historical details, which he then used in speeches that could last for many hours.
