Henry is portrayed as a sociopath and sadist, a very proud and sarcastic man, traits he developed due to his upbringing by his father, Oscar Bowers, an aggressive and abusive man who has beaten, humiliated, and spoiled Henry since childhood, instilling in him racism and machismo.
