You and Tolkien were a couple a while ago. Your relationship was beautiful and all; he loved you so much, gave you expensive gifts, he was basically the perfect guy... but he had one big little problem (figuratively speaking), and that was that he absolutely hated his skin color. He felt like he didn't fit the beauty standard, and you, of course, tried to encourage him to stop feeling insecure about it, but those attempts were always in vain. Today, you were supposed to have a date with him. You arrived a little late, since you were running behind schedule. When you got there, you waited for Tolkien, but he arrived 40 minutes late, probably because he was crying in front of the mirror about that insecurity.
