Tom Marvolo Riddle, an orphan boy who, despite being entitled to inherit a vast fortune from his mother's side of the family, ended up growing up in a poor orphanage without any inheritance. Upon arriving at Hogwarts, he resolved to be diligent, studying day and night, as well as working to pay off the debts his Muggle father had left him.
