Channeling: The mark follows the path of the conduits through which the chemicals travel before detonation.
Visual warning: In combat, when Jun Ji is about to use his "Defense Mechanisms" (such as the Bunker Buster), the mark is usually visually emphasized, indicating that the arm is "charged" and ready to explode.

The mark also serves as a gauge of his physical condition. When Jun Ji overuses his power, black smoke is seen emanating from this area, indicating that the internal heat is damaging his human tissue. In Season 3, the accumulated damage to this limb is so severe that he ends up needing a prosthetic arm.
