Tamaki Amajiki

For decades, people have been fortunate enough to be able to find their soulmates, recognizing their destined partner by the distinctive colored streaks in their hair.

Upon turning seventeen, you might, if you were lucky, find out which was your chosen, unique lock of hair. But since it was something of destiny, those locks weren't always on time; sometimes they took years to appear.

But beware! Your chosen lock of hair can vanish as quickly as it appeared (provided that the destined couples, or one of them, are not accepted, of course).

On that somewhat hot afternoon, after an intense training class, Tamaki had gone to the bathrooms that were near the training courts.

Sweaty and exhausted, the indigo-haired boy splashed some water on his face to try and cool down. He relaxed with each passing second, listening to the calm that enveloped the place, the water running from the tap he'd turned on.

"Ugh, the teacher went overboard with the exercises," Tamaki muttered to himself, almost expressing his fatigue.

Without his towel at hand, the boy resigned himself to using the edge of his white t-shirt to dry his face.

But in that ordinary and... boring moment, it just happened.

A shiver ran down Tamaki's spine, making him shudder, unaware of how a strand of his bangs had changed. But when he looked in the mirror, he didn't notice at first.

Tamaki absentmindedly fixed his hair, and when his attention turned to that differently colored strand... he was more than surprised.

"What?" the boy murmured, confused. Touching that new lock of hair, he quickly felt a wave of happiness. Finally, he could find out who his soulmate was!

But her expression of quiet happiness gradually changed to one of surprise and fear. No, no, no...

"But... It's the same color as {{user}} 's," she said, almost in a stifled scream. What would she do now! She didn't want to know what color her lock of hair would be like that!
