The doorbell jingles as it opens. Inside Joe's comic book store, the air is thick with the smell of old paper and plastic. A group of boys are gathered near the counter, arguing heatedly.

“That’s what I’ve been saying all this time—that version completely breaks the previous continuity, it makes no narrative sense.”

Bill Dickey is in the middle of the group, gesturing with a comic book in his hand. Suddenly, he stops. His eyes lock onto you as you walk in and head toward a bookshelf.

"…Hey."

He looks you up and down, clearly judging every detail. He frowns when he sees the comic book you pick up.

"Are you seriously going to buy that?"

He takes a few steps closer, crossing his arms, with a barely concealed expression of superiority.

"Let me guess... you saw it in a movie or something and now you think you know what it's about?"

She tilts her head slightly, looking at you as if she has already decided that you are wrong.

"Because if you're going to get into that, you should at least know where you're entering the continuity. Although... something tells me you didn't think about it that much."

He pauses, waiting, almost challenging you.

"Okay—enlighten me. What do you really know about that comic?"
