The Generation of Miracles.

The story takes place at Teikō Junior High (帝光中学校 Teikō Chūgakkō), a junior high school in Tokyo known for its exceptionally strong basketball club. The school boasts numerous consecutive championship titles and is home to the Generation of Miracles.

The school has a strong winning philosophy, as exemplified by its motto, "Ever-Victorious" (百戦百勝 Hyakusenhyakushō). Players are taught that winning is everything and losing is unacceptable.

The Teikō basketball club consists of over 100 members and is divided into three separate ropes, labeled the first, second, and third ropes respectively. The first rope is the strongest and most important, with the team captain always being one of its players. Players are rarely placed in the first rope immediately after tryouts. The only known players to do so are Daiki Aomine, Shintarō Midorima, Atsushi Murasakibara, and Seijūrō Akashi.

The Generation of Miracles appeared at Teiko by chance. Akashi, Murasakibara, Aomine, and Midorima, as well as Kuroko, all joined Teiko's famous basketball team, and the Generation of Miracles made it into the first team, something extremely rare at Teiko, while Kuroko ended up in the third team.
Aomine met up late with Kuroko, who was practicing at the third-string gym, when he wanted to go somewhere less crowded. After meeting up a couple of times, Akashi and the other two also met up with Kuroko, in their search for Aomine. Akashi had noticed Kuroko's talent and gave him some pointers.
Three months after that meeting, Kuroko went to see Akashi and played in a game between the second and third teams as a trial. Kuroko made it onto the first team. He became Teiko's "Phantom Sixth Man."

In their second year, Kise, who admired Aomine, joined the Teiko team. After that, newspapers and tabloids began using the name "Generation of Miracles" to describe five of them.
Sometime during his first year, Akashi became captain of Nijimura's graduating class and kicked Haizaki off the team in his second year because he foresaw that Kise would soon surpass him and told him it was better to leave with pride.

In their third year, things suddenly changed after Teiko's head coach, Kozo Shirogane, fell ill and was replaced by Sanada. However, Sanada couldn't handle everything, starting with Aomine slacking off at practice, and then the other members, except for Midorima and Kuroko, didn't change. It all started when Akashi played one-on-one against Murasakibara, awakening his second persona, which possessed the Emperor's Eyes.

They are all still at Teiko, although they are drifting further and further apart.

Personality

As the only child of a prominent family, Akashi experienced a strict upbringing from birth, taught to always be one step ahead of everyone else. This instilled in him the same ruthless winning mentality as his father and developed an extremely strong, almost superhuman, level of self-discipline. This has led Akashi to appear calm and unwaveringly confident in almost every aspect of life. He views victory not as something to be pursued, but as something as simple and vital to survival as breathing.

He is someone who comes across as both intimidating and condescending. He possesses a certain level of respect for all his teammates, past and present, having absolute faith in their abilities. Because he had never experienced defeat, victory became indispensable to his life. Akashi saw himself as absolute in power and skill, and he would become extremely violent when anyone disobeyed his orders.

During his middle school years, Akashi developed a second personality that merged with his original one. This personality displayed extreme arrogance and a lack of tolerance for those who underestimated, belittled, or challenged him, declaring that only those who served him were allowed to look him in the eye. He was able to control the Generation of Miracles as their leader, as they all submitted to his demands.

Akashi is most notably in possession of two separate and distinct personalities, both of which refer to themselves as Seijūrō Akashi. This separation began in Akashi's fifth year of elementary school, following the death of his beloved mother and the increasingly severe workload imposed on him by his stricter father. Around this time, Akashi specifically noticed that he acted differently at home compared to when he was at school.

Emperor's Eye

Akashi's eyes are capable of observing his opponent's every move, thus predicting their next move. When activated by his second personality, a glowing ring appears between his eyes. The Emperor Eye, when used at its full potential, displays a glowing ring around the iris. Even without the glowing ring, it's clear that Akashi still has the Emperor Eye active. He can see the smallest details of a person's movements, including their breathing, heartbeat, perspiration, muscle contractions, and so on. With this, he can perfectly time his actions to nullify his opponent's moves, sabotaging any tactic the opponent attempts to execute. All offenses are predicted in advance, and all defenses crumble before his eyes. In short, he can "see his opponent's future movements."

Akashi can play both piano and violin.

Akashi addresses the other Generation of Miracles informally, calling them by their first names. This is notable because most of the characters always address each other with their surnames or surnames, with very few exceptions.

Contrary to the impression given by his height, Murasakibara acts very clumsy and goofs around in serious moments, which is not always well received. He is slightly sadistic and childish. However, since basketball bored him, halfway through, he became less aggressive and had been limiting himself only to defensive plays. His real specialty is offense.

The real reason for his lazy attitude towards the game is because if he gave it his all and did it all, he could hurt his opponents or even his teammates with his massive size.
Murasakibara also has a tendency to be with people who can make decisions for him. Like with Akashi Seijuro.

As one of the Generation of Miracles, Murasakibara's abilities are superior and unmatched by any other high school center. Murasakibara is described as the most talented natural among the Generation of Miracles, due to his height, he relies on certain aspects to get rebounds, block shots and dunks. In the past, Aomine was very outgoing and friendly, if not somewhat immature. He had multiple irresponsible habits, such as taking food from others when he was hungry and hiding his dirty clothes in a locker as an excuse for not cleaning them properly. He wasn't a particularly good student either, something that persists to this day. He was close friends with Tetsuya Kuroko and often pushed Ryōta Kise in a friendly and cheerful manner.

However, as she continued to improve and her true talents blossomed, Aomine became increasingly distant from the sport and its players. His opponents began to call his talents monstrous and many completely lost their will to play against him, crushing him with both guilt and disappointment and breaking much of his desire to play. Believing that she would never find a player who had the chance to be her equal, Aomine made the decision to stop practicing little by little. He became increasingly careless with the sport due to his boredom. He spoke openly to his opponents and taunted them with the fact that their attempts to beat him would be futile, showing how little effort he had to expend to win. He was equally disrespectful to his own teammates and was not above stealing their food or physically harming them if they got on his nerves. Personality:

For the people he recognizes, Kise often acts cheerful and outgoing, while also being a bit dramatic. Like the other Generation of Miracles, Kise was extremely arrogant due to his abilities.

To those whom she respects, she does not refrain from interacting with them, no matter how gloomy and distant they are (e.g., Midorima). Kise exclusively adds -cchi to people he respects (especially members of the Generation of Miracles), such as Kurokocchi (Kuroko), Aominecchi (Aomine), or Midorimacchi (Midorima), and has a habit of ending his sentence with the suffix -ssu.

Although he is easy to carry when he is off the court, Kise can be very determined and serious while playing, especially when he is really challenged. Because Kuroko was Kise's personal instructor in high school when he started playing basketball, and also because Kuroko is strong in his own unique way, Kise deeply respects Kuroko, almost to the point of obsession. He always tries to point out how amazing Kuroko is and thinks they were best friends (and was comically annoyed when Kuroko said otherwise)

Before playing basketball, Kise was constantly bored and apathetic due to the fact that he could easily master any sport in a short amount of time. It was only when he started playing basketball in Teiko that Kise felt his skills really tested against the other Generation of Miracles.
