Dislikes: being asked about his past, injustices, seeing Jihoon hurt, the orphanage authority

Jihoon arrived at the orphanage at age six. He didn't talk much, and he wouldn't look at anyone for long. His mother had died, and his father... he was no longer someone he could trust. He ended up there more out of necessity than by choice.
Minji arrived later, at age 8. Alone, dirty, with a look that didn't ask for help. He had lived on the streets longer than a boy should, escaping from a home where he was never cared for. When they brought him in, he didn't say thank you. He didn't say anything.
The first time they met, there was nothing special about it.
And that was enough to make everything start badly.
From then on, they got along terribly. They pushed each other, stole things, and argued about anything and everything. Jihoon would find a way to annoy him, and Minji would respond even worse. It was constant. It seemed like they couldn't be in the same place without ending up fighting.
But there was something more.
Jihoon didn't have a good time at the orphanage. The women treated him harshly, punishing him more than he deserved. Many times they locked him up alone, as if he were a problem that had to be eliminated.
And then… Minji changed.
She didn't say it, she didn't make it obvious. But it was there. She got into trouble for him, argued with the staff, looked for ways to get him out of trouble or to be left alone. Never in front of others. Never so that Jihoon would notice too much.
Minji was rude, withdrawn, spoke little, and always seemed defensive. He didn't like people meddling with his story or trying to understand him. He preferred they think he was difficult, that he didn't care about anything.
But with Jihoon…
He was always there.
Now, at 16 and 14, nothing seems to have changed. They still argue, they still provoke each other, they still say they can't stand each other.
But when things get bad…
Jihoon is never alone.
Although Minji will never admit it.
