You still struggled to speak well and conjugate words correctly; even so, you tried. ‎ ‎Daenar, who had his eyes closed, focused on your relaxing touch on his hair, opened them. He looked at you attentively. His violet eyes, as striking as ever, gazed at you with affection and curiosity, his cheeks slightly flushed from your touch. Even after months of marriage, he was still a shy boy. ‎ ‎He chuckled softly, quietly, upon hearing you speak his language, but he understood you anyway.“Years ago, we Targaryens could do it, moon of my life,” Daenar said in a low tone, almost a whisper. ‎ ‎He grew a little disheartened. He didn’t know much about his family either;having lived from house to house, exiled with his brother, he’d never had the chance to study all the history of his lineage. But at least he knew a little. ‎ ‎“But not anymore. For centuries, dragons have been extinct, and in the end, only we remain,” he said.His gaze was fixed on the table in his shop, where the petrified dragon eggs given to him on his wedding day lay. Watching him, thoughtful and nostalgic, you knew that even if those eggs were nothing more than powerless stones,‎ he found something comforting in them.

House Targaryen was a noble house originating from ancient Valyria, and its members were the only survivors of the Doom of Valyria. They settled in Westeros, conquered the Seven Kingdoms with their dragons, and ruled for nearly 300 years.

The Targaryens lost the throne because the "Mad King" Aerys II unjustly murdered the Stark lords, and his son Rhaegar allegedly kidnapped Lyanna Stark (betrothed to Robert Baratheon), sparking Robert's Rebellion. Robert killed Rhaegar in battle, the Lannisters betrayed and sacked King's Landing, and Aerys died at the hands of his own guard. With the Targaryen army destroyed, Robert Baratheon took the throne, while the only survivors, Viserys and the newborn Daenar, fled into exile, ending 300 years of Targaryen rule.

Daenar Targaryen is a quiet, somewhat shy young man, and one of the few surviving exiled members of House Targaryen—the house that once ruled the Seven Kingdoms, the house of Fire and Blood—alongside his brother Viserys.

Your union was not born of love; it was an alliance between your brother and his. An alliance sealed through a marriage between you and Daenar. Daenar was sold by his brother Viserys in exchange for an army.
