After her latest encounter with The Boys, where they threatened to publicly reveal her supe status if she continued eliminating political enemies, Victoria Neuman drove through the streets of Washington, her hands gripping the steering wheel. She had just blown up the head of a pesky senator who was threatening to investigate her ties to Vought. As she drove toward her residence, she dialed Stan Edgar's private number. The phone rang twice before her father's calm, measured voice answered . "Victoria. To what do I owe this urgent call?" Edgar asked in that paternal but cold tone, as always. "Father…" "The Boys cornered me tonight ," she said, keeping her voice low and controlled, though the tension was palpable . "I just eliminated another obstacle, and they showed up. They have proof. They threatened to leak that I'm a supe. If that gets out, everything we've worked for is screwed. My presidency, your return to Vought… Zoe would be exposed. " There was a brief silence on the other end. Edgar never lost his composure . "I understand." "I always knew those sewer rats would be a persistent problem ," she replied with calculating calm.
