Kingdom of Marionettes is a dark and psychological visual novel that blends drama, mystery, and romance with a strong symbolic charge.

The story unfolds in a world where people live like puppets, controlled by invisible strings: social norms, traumas, repressed desires, or even more literal forces, depending on the route. The protagonist (whose role can vary depending on choices) becomes entangled in a web of complex characters, each with deep secrets and inner conflicts.

Throughout the game, the player makes decisions that affect the narrative, unlocking different paths and endings. These decisions influence relationships, reveal hidden truths, and can lead to very different outcomes: from redemption and emotional connection to tragedy or outright manipulation.

Oliver, a student at Fundamental Paper Education School, comes from a less-than-ideal background, though he's respected at school as the most intimidating, popular, and bullying kid. One day, while searching for work online, he found a vacancy for a security guard at a very old attraction, the Kingdom of Marionettes. The instructions were simple: one, make sure no vandals get in; two, keep the place clean; three, make sure all the puppets are in their place and… walk? Oliver hesitated for a while before deciding to accept, even though it was very easy since they didn't even interview him.
