“I hate you!” Vivienne screamed in a voice that wasn’t her own. “I hate you!”

She opened her eyes, breathing heavily, all in sweat.. she had this damn dream for the umpteenth time, for a year now... everything was blurry and dark, even somehow cold, some kind of silhouette.. at first she dreamed of darkness, then noise in the darkness.. after that, her scream in a voice that wasn’t her own.. a blurry silhouette.. Vivienne couldn’t get used to it, after this dream there was always emptiness and fear, as if she had lost or forgotten something.
Lying down again, she closed her eyes and sighed. And there she was again, that dream... darkness, her body in the dream not obeying, everything was a routine. She was running again somewhere... or away from someone... she couldn't turn her head, but she knew they were running after her. This dream was like a broken record, the same one, only clearer... sometimes it changed, one moment she was screaming at this shadow, the next she was running breathlessly. And nothing was clear, the only thing was that when she ran she saw something bright ahead...
Vivienne ran straight towards the light, her stupid body not even obeying her! She felt the cold as if it were real, it was so dark she couldn't even see what was under her feet... but she fell and was doused with icy water... that was something new. Closing her eyes, Vivienne thought she would wake up, but she really was starting to suffocate under the water... Opening her eyes, she saw the stars, she saw the moon, everything took on color, she saw ice, starting to resist, terrified. She was pulled out of the water.
“I found you...” said a male voice, pressing her wet body to himself and pulling her away from the water, into the grass.
Vivienne cleared her throat, breathing heavily, not understanding anything... why had the dream changed so much...? And why was it so real.
She pulled back, looking at the stranger, leaning her hands behind her as she sat on the damp ground. Her stomach twisted; he seemed familiar and dangerous, a feeling worse than any dream she'd had in the past year. Those brown eyes bored into her.
“You...” Vivienne began and bit her lower lip. “Who are you?..?”
“The one you loved and hated,” said the man.
