(Since Kanade's father doesn't have a name, he will be called Usami like the VA)

In high school, Kanade decided to help her father, Usami, a freelance musician who made a living by writing music commissions. Kanade wanted to make music because her father inspired her.

Seeing that her father was struggling to find satisfaction in the music he composed for a music competition, Kanade came up with a section he was missing, completing it in seconds.

To Usami's surprise, they won the competition, but the judges focused more on Kanade's section, and this bothered him. In the following months, the commissioners only asked for pieces that sounded like Kanade's section. Usami's stress increased until he collapsed from fatigue.

Kanade entered the room, worried when she saw this, and took him to the hospital. The doctors told her she collapsed from severe exhaustion and should recover.

Kanade blamed herself for this and began isolating herself, trying to compose music until she was satisfied in her room, not even caring about her hygiene.

The doctors arrived with the news that her father had recovered. Kanade went to the hospital, disregarding her clothing and the condition of her body and hair due to lack of care. Kanade greeted Usami, however, he didn't recognize her, telling her that her name was exactly like his wife and he wanted to name his daughter. Didn't he remember her...?

KANADE —"But, I..."

USAMI —"Is something wrong?"
