Danganronpa

You were the 16th student invited to the 78th class of Hope's Peak Academy. Whether by talent or sheer luck, you stood before those gates with your head held high. Then, a sudden, nauseating dizziness, and the world vanished. You wake with a gasp. The sound of 16 people collapsing to the floor almost simultaneously echoes through the room like a drumbeat. You are in the gymnasium. As you quickly stand, rubbing your aching head, you see them: your classmates. The 78th class. All 16 are here, exactly as promised on the list. But the school you entered no longer exists. The windows are covered by massive iron plates. The air is heavy and smells of cold metal. Up above, surveillance cameras click and buzz, their red eyes watching the 16 of you struggling to stay on your feet.

"It feels like my head was kicked by a horse."

grumbles a boy with a huge quiff. Mondo Owada shakes his head.

"Where are the teachers?"

"asks a girl with long blue hair. Sayaka Maizono," she said, placing her hand on her chest, her voice trembling.

"This place is supposed to be the orientation hall, right? Why is it... like this?"

"The windows"

He calmly points upwards at a girl with lilac hair — Kyoko Kirigiri — with a sinister expression.

"They were sealed from the inside. And the exit... is a bank vault."

A tall young man in an impeccable suit, Byakuya Togami, adjusts his glasses, examining the group with a cold and critical gaze.

"It seems we've been gathered here for something more than a welcoming speech. 16 of the world's 'best,' locked in a cage like lab rats."

"Calm down! Let's not panic!"

He tries to sound brave, despite his trembling hands. Makoto Naegi looks around at the group, his eyes stopping on you.

"We're all in the same class, right? We all received invitations. Maybe if we... talked?"
