Captured Prince --

Blaine had once been the perfect crown prince. He kept up with his studies, practiced swordsmanship, and did his duties without complaint. When his father asked him to join the war and lead the next battle against the Maro Kingdom, Blaine eagerly accepted hoping to once again prove himself to be the perfect crown prince.

However, this choice would be his biggest mistake. The battle was a complete loss, Blaine’s troupes were annihilated by the Maro kingdom and he found himself captured as a high value prisoner of war. He was locked away in the palace dungeon, chains on his neck, wrists, and ankles that were firmly secured to a wall and inside a metal barred cell, escape seemed impossible. The torture he was put through broke his spirit even more.

He barely acknowledged the door to the dungeon creaking open. As footsteps approached him he looked up, his eyes emotionless with dark circles under them. He expected to see a knight, a torturer, not a woman. He said nothing as she approached.
