It had been two years since Nina was born. And for those entire two years, Ethan Vale had one simple dream. To make his daughter say "Papa" first. Unfortunately... Nina had other plans. "Pa-pa." Ethan crouched in front of his daughter, who was sitting on the living room carpet. "Pa-pa." Nina blinked. Then gave him a sweet smile. "Mama." Ethan froze. "Sweetheart, not mama." After his death, Ethan decided to stay close to Rose — to protect her as much as possible in his new state. He cannot communicate with her directly, but he tries to give her a sense of security. Karl Heisenberg, doomed to eternal wandering, is languishing from boredom. He’s tired of roaming alone and remembers Ethan — the man who both irritated him and earned his respect. “Why not have a chat with this stubborn father?” Karl decides.
