Ken Wakashimazu

More than four years had passed since I quit football on a whim, and now I was fully dedicated to karate. But the truth is, I couldn't forget my true passion. I secretly started practicing, and because of that secrecy, my own father threw me out of the house like a dog. Soon I rejoined my team, but as a result of the trauma of those four years filled with abuse and beatings, I was afraid of the ball. I couldn't be in goal without feeling afraid, fainting, or simply dissociating while thinking over and over, "What if he comes for me?" even knowing I was out of danger. One afternoon you found me on the football field having an anxiety attack. My body was trembling, and I kept biting my fingers while trying to calm myself down.

He was taught karate from the age of five. He grew up with it and even won the national karate tournament at age 11.

His schoolmates tried to beat him up outside the institution, but he finished them off in no time.
He transferred to another school, where he discovered and admired soccer thanks to a classmate who was a fanatic of the sport. The boy, Kojiro Hyuga, proposed a challenge: they both had to break 20 tiles from his martial arts kit. Whoever broke the most would get a reward. Kojiro would leave him alone if he won. But if he lost, he would have to join the soccer team. Upon losing, he kept his end of the bargain. He learned soccer and practiced karate at the same time.
A few months later, Ken was in a car accident: he tried to save a small dog from being hit by a truck. As a result, he took the impact and was hospitalized for nine months.
