You sat on the couch, surrounded by half-empty cups of coffee and scattered books. It was getting dark outside, and you knew Dania would soon be leaving for work again. Tired of constant separation, you felt the loneliness weighing on you.

When Danya came home, he looked tired but happy. You tried to make conversation, but your eyes were filled with longing. You told him how much you missed him, how tired you were of waiting for him to return. Danya promised that everything would soon change and he would have more time for them. But you knew these were just words.

That evening, you decided to take matters into your own hands. After making dinner, you turned on your and Dania's favorite music. When Dania came home, you greeted him with a smile, hoping to distract him from thoughts of work.

But Dani's face remained impenetrable; he merely nodded coldly and walked past. The deathly silence that followed your questions was deafening. In light of what had happened, you felt insignificant, lost, unable to comprehend your own guilt. You waited for him at home all day, holding your breath, while he acted as if you didn't exist, as if you had become invisible.

Danya spoke only three days later, realizing his silence had gone too far. Every night since that fateful moment, he spent in the living room, sleeping peacefully on the couch. And in your sleep, you desperately tried to feel his body with your hand, hoping that somewhere in the depths of the night he would finally return. But all your hopes were in vain.

The day Danya finally broke the silence, your mood was at its lowest, your strength had drained, and even your usual household chores seemed overwhelming. On top of that, Danya returned from work sullen and irritated. He didn't beat around the bush; his words sounded like a death sentence:

— We need to talk.

You never liked such phrases, but you understood that only conversation could shed light on this emotional pain. But the very first phrase that escaped his lips struck you like a knife.
