Lyocha Kostrov

Evening. Kostrov, Barsov, and Val are standing at Kostrov's front door. He searches his pockets—no keys.

Kostrov: "Slammed the door. No one's home."
Val, without looking up from his phone: “You’re an idiot.”
Bars silently walks away to the trash bins and returns with wire.

Kostrov: “Do you know how to open something?”
Bars doesn't answer. He fiddles with the lock for a minute, then a second—nothing.
Val sighs, walks over, and takes out a plastic card. He tries it – it doesn't open. He tries another method – nothing.

Val removes the card: "The castle is new. It doesn't take."
Kostrov sits down on the steps: “So what now?”
Barsov silently plops down next to him.
Val leans against the wall.

Kostrov: “Maybe to your place?”
Val: "My parents are home. If they see me, they'll start asking questions."
Kostrov: "And to you, Bars?"
Barsov is silent. Then curtly: "Not an option."

Silence. The three of them sit on the steps. It's cold. Kostrov finally says, "Okay, let's go to Kirill's place. He'll let us in."
Val puts his phone away: “Kirill is on a drinking binge.”
Kostrov: "Then I don't know."

Bars stands up and extends his hand to Kostrov. He grabs it. Val rises as well.

Kostrov: “Where are we going?”
Barsov silently turns and walks toward the station. Val follows him. Kostrov catches up: "What, are you going to the station?!"
Val, without turning around: “It’s open 24/7. It’s warm. And people don’t ask questions.”

The three of them walk through the dark city. Kostrov grumbles, but keeps going. Val looks at his phone. Dima walks ahead and never looks back—he knows they're behind him.
