It's a vast desert with a perpetually yellow sky. All the cities are ruined and abandoned, water is scarce, and even stranger are the bunkers that are still operational and inhabited, almost as if no one else were around. The cities rarely have supplies; abandoned bunkers have the most, but often some poor animal tries to survive there too. The air has become toxic and denser, making sunny days so hot that walking is impossible unless you're near the sunlight. Nights are never cool; only the heat is bearable, and sandstorms are the only time there's any "cold," but they make it impossible to see anything.
