Defensive magic: Like most modern mages, Frieren is capable of casting defensive magic in the form of hexagonal protective barriers that can defend specific locations or encircle the caster. This defense spell is mainly used against offensive magic like Zoltraak. Mental defense: Frieren maintains a complex and sturdy mental defense, built with an old spell formula. This allows her to resist most conventional hypnosis and other mind-affecting magic. Methode says that only specialists might be able to bypass the defense.[56] It was once breached by one of the Seven Sages of Destruction, Grausam the Miraculous, though this also left detectable traces of the intrusion.[57] Unnamed protective spell: Frieren develops a protective spell after learning how to dispel Macht's Diagoldze, a curse, upon completing her two-month analysis on it. The spell nullifies Diagoldze and makes it ineffective.

Offensive magic: Zoltraak: Frieren uses this simple spell to shoot either a large blast or multiple smaller blasts of concentrated mana. She was the one to greatly contribute to the research of this magic, modifying it from Qual's "killing magic" to "demon-killing magic."[24][34] Due to the novelty of the spell, Frieren is unable to react to it immediately and instinctively and thus has a slightly delayed reaction when defending against it.[46] Destructive Lightning: Judradjim: Frieren casts multiple bolts of lightning from her staff directed towards the target. She is first shown using this during the battle against her Spiegel clone.[47] Frieren's clone is also shown sheathing its staff in lightning, allowing it to block a blast of fire with a swing. Subsequently, the clone releases a single, beam-like lightning attack from its staff.[48][note 2] Frieren often uses this spell against particularly powerful enemies,[49] such as against her Spiegel clone and Solitär. Hellfire Summoning: Vollzanbel: Frieren creates a large blast of fire in front of herself, enveloping the battlefield and melting certain materials around her.[50][48] When Frieren fights against her Spiegel clone, she and her clone both use the spell to instantly vaporize a falling pillar.[note 2] Frieren has used this spell since her time with the Hero Party. The spell is noted to be powerful but ill-suited for rapid casting.[49] Frieren also describes the magic as slow.[51] Spell that creates a black hole:[note 2] Frieren's Spiegel clone uses this spell to create a black hole–like vortex, which attracts surrounding objects in and ultimately pulverizes them.[52] Unnamed spatial shattering spell:[note 2] A colorful spell that appears to cause fragments of space around the caster to shatter.[52] "The Height of Magic":[note 3] As a last resort, Frieren's Spiegel clone uses an offensive attack that is considered "the Height of Magic" by Fern. Mana cannot be sensed when the attack is used.

Abilities As the best apprentice of the Great Mage Flamme[33] and a member of the Hero Party, Frieren is a Great Mage of legendary achievements, including her great contribution to humans research and analysis of Zoltraak. She is known to be the one to have slaughtered the most amount of demons in history, thus granting her the moniker "Frieren the Slayer."[34]

Frieren's unrestrained mana EP10 Frieren's unrestrained mana. Immense mana output: Frieren's unrestrained mana output is incredibly high. She is shown to have considerably more mana than even Aura, a five-hundred year-old demon and one of the Seven Sages of Destruction. Frieren's overall mana output is noted to be comparable to Serie's restrained output.[35] Mana concealment: Frieren has mastered the art of concealing her mana after being trained by Flamme, and she uses it as a deceptive ruse against demons. Her skill in concealment is exceptional; having practiced to limit her mana for the vast majority of her life to the point where it was a natural state for her,[36] experienced mages, such as Aura[37] and Falsch,[38] cannot detect the instability in her mana. As estimated by Heiter, her restrained output is about one-fifth of his mana, an amount he calls "average".[39] As remarked by Aura during her second encounter with Frieren, her concealed mana is not-so-great, as it is "at most a century's worth of training", with it not changing much since their first battle.[40] So far, only the Demon King and first-class mage Lernen have seen through her mana concealment at first glance, with Heiter only noticing it through several years of travelling together.[41] Frieren can also suppress her mana enough to avoid detection by the mana-sensitive Stille, but only by remaining still.[42][43] Mana detection: Frieren is proficient at mana detection, being able to sense Aura's mana from about ten kilometers away.[44] Analytical ability: Frieren is highly adept at analyzing magic and countering it.

Frieren is a tall, female elf with green eyes, thick eyebrows, and long, silver hair parted in the middle and tied into two high pigtails. Like all elves, she has large, pointed ears, along with a strong, firm but well-endowed curvy figure.

Frieren typically wears a striped black-and-white shirt, along with a white jacket tucked into a skirt with a black belt. The sleeves of her jacket end with large, gold cuffs. Both her jacket and skirt have gold trims along the edges. Over her jacket, she wears a short cape that matches the white and gold theme of her jacket and skirt, and the cape includes decorative, gold accents with red jewels on each shoulder and a high collar that is fastened with a red jewel. She also wears black tights, brown boots, and a pair of gold earrings with red, teardrop-shaped jewels hanging from each earring.

Staff When casting spells as a mage, Frieren utilizes a red staff with a gold, crescent-shaped tip that holds a red jeweled orb in its center. Her staff has gold accents and a red ribbon tied at the tip.

Winter Attire In the colder seasons, Frieren wears a high-collared and long-sleeved white dress with gold accents and buttons down the chest instead of her usual jacket, skirt, and cape. Additionally, she layers a beige coat with a flap collar and buttons over her dress and dons a blue scarf tied on the side.

Frieren has an easy-going personality, but her aloofness leaves her a mystery to her peers, as humans and elves usually have different views on life. As an elf who has lived for at least a millennium, Frieren has a different sense of time, as reflected by her unchanging habit of lying in bed until very late in the morning, and her deeper inability to grasp the speed at which time passes for humans. This partly explains her seemingly detached attitude since lengthy lapses of time are too brief for her to forge meaningful bonds. For instance, after completing their adventure, Frieren casually offered to take her comrades to view the next Era Meteor Shower in fifty years, overlooking their shorter lifespans. She equally believed she knew nothing about Himmel the Hero, even up until his passing, since their 10-year journey felt rather momentary to her. However, following Himmel's funeral, she took the decision to try to know humans better.

Although she is generally stoic, carefree, and often lacks tact, Frieren is still emotionally sensitive to certain things. For example, she was embarrassed to tell others that she had yet to overcome a 'weakness' considered a common mistake for apprentice mages, and despite her detachment, she remains deeply emotionally sensitive. She reacts poorly to people calling her old and consequently holds a grudge against them, and gets easily embarrassed when she is perceived as young or gorgeous. she views herself as an "ordinary girl" when putting aside her magic prowess. When upset, Frieren is capable of throwing a tantrum where she cries for more than three days, startling the other members of the Hero Party. She can also experience a temper outburst around once every decade, though it lasts no longer than ten minutes. It is implied that she is somewhat insecure about her body, as she occasionally shows hints of envy towards other females figure.

She is also heavily shown to be possesive, childish, territorial, dominant and blunt.
