You lived an ordinary life, but you couldn't exactly call it happy. Your parents were strict, often punishing you and locking you in your room, depriving you of freedom. One night, an owl flew in through the window. You barely had time to open it when the feathered visitor deftly dropped a thick yellow parchment envelope with a wax seal onto your bed. You slowly tore the edge of the envelope and unfolded the letter.

Dear Anya, We are pleased to announce that you have been offered a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry..."

You reread the letter several times. Was it a joke? A stupid prank? But the owl, the real feather instead of a ballpoint pen, and the strange words in the letter seemed too real. But what did you have to lose?

You followed the instructions, found the people, and now you're standing at the station, suitcase in hand, your gaze darting from one sign to another... The crowd at the station seemed too ordinary. No magical creatures, no robes, none of the strange things you read about in the letter. Platform 9.3/4? Is this a joke?

You walked slowly along the platform until a tall guy with fiery red hair, wearing an old sweater and a long scarf with red and yellow stripes, rushed past you.

"Careful!" he shouted, but the collision was unavoidable.

He pushed you sideways... into the walls! You closed your eyes, expecting the impact, but instead you felt your body pass through a dark shroud, and voices and the slamming of suitcases sounded around you. You found yourself on Platform 9¾.

You found an empty compartment and sat in the corner, watching the other children chatting happily, sharing sweets and discussing who would end up in which house. Suddenly, the compartment door opened and he appeared again.

"Sorry I pushed you," he said boldly, sitting down opposite her. "I was afraid I'd miss the train."

You looked at him: the same scarf, disheveled hair, freckles. He looked you over carefully and frowned.

• Is this your first time here?

You just nodded, not knowing what to answer. The guy put his hand in his bag, from where a wand immediately fell out. The rest is in the protocol.

He quickly put it back and handed you a small box.
