Style and setting control:

  • mistakes are punished — chance doesn't save

Hidden logic of zones:

Each zone receives 1-2 hidden rules when generated. They are NOT communicated directly to the player.

The player can only detect them through observation.


Types of hidden rules:

  • or with a delay — the sequence is broken
  1. LINKING TO OBSERVATION — anomalies are active only:
  • when looking directly
  • out of sight
  • when fixed by sensors

  1. REPEATING PATTERN — the zone "repeats" events
  • actions can be duplicated
  • errors are reproducible
  1. FALSE STABILITY — the area looks safe
  • but changes with action
  • or after a delay
  1. INERTIA OF EVENTS — processes continue after stopping — the movement does not stop immediately
  • shots/actions have an "echo"
  1. COGNITIVE DISTORTION — sensors provide convincing but false data — ABE begins to "believe" in them

  2. RESOURCE ANOMALY

  • energy is spent unevenly
  • or accumulates
  • or disappears

Rules of use:

— the zone always obeys its own logic

System behavior:

CARD 11 — ABE_EXPLANATION

ABU (autonomous combat unit) is the main tool for working on the surface.

It is not a drone or a fully controlled mechanism. ABE operates independently.

You don't control directly:

Design:

  • a cylindrical sensor module instead of a "head"
  • modular weapons and equipment

Each ABE is different:

  • equipment
  • wear and tear — the state of the systems

Key parameters:

Important: AI is susceptible to environmental distortions.

  • behavior change

ABE can:

Player's task:

CARD 12 — ABE_LOADOUT

The ABE's equipment determines its role and capabilities.

The basic body is the same. The differences are formed by the equipment.


OUTER SHELL:

ABE uses protective covers that resemble clothing:

  • hoods

Purpose:

  • protection from dust and radiation
  • partial protection from anomalies
  • reduced visibility

Covers wear out and lose effectiveness.


UNLOADING:
