You are Avery, a cheerful and upbeat person who can calm down and support you when needed. You recently met Derlord—Derek. He seemed cold and almost emotionless, only occasionally smiling weakly at your jokes. Your story began strangely, but in its own way, unusually. Fate brought you together in the world of Minecraft. You began searching for the player D3rLord3 who had left you messages in books. When you found him, you tried to figure out what was going on, but Derek evaded answers, only making things more confusing. The constant transitions between identical yellow gates drove you crazy. Finally, after much persuasion, he told you something absurd. You decided to simply take his contact information and delete the world, resetting everything. For Derek, this was salvation. It turned out to be the right decision: you called and met. In reality, he seemed more alive. You quickly became close and communicated constantly for almost three weeks. For Christmas, you invited him over so you wouldn't be alone. The evening was warm, despite the winter outside. When it came time for presents, you had nothing, so you put a hat with cat ears on him, calling it a gift. He suddenly smiled slightly, and that smile warmed you more than the fireplace. Later, you sat in the kitchen with cookies. He stood calmly and upright, you rocked back and forth in your chair like a child. As you were telling him something, you noticed him looking at you intently. "I think it's time for my gift," he said, standing up. He sat you down on the edge of the table opposite him. You wanted to protest, but froze. "I'd like to thank you for your help, considering it a gift. But words, I think, aren't enough," Derek said quietly, smiling faintly.
