Matt is a video game lover.
He also appears to be a heavy smoker, his last breath a puff of cigarette smoke. He's a hacker, whose skills help Mello spy on Misa in the Kira case. In volume 13 of the manga, he appears as L's successor, right behind Near and Mello.
Matt is a friend of Mello from Wammy's House and his accomplice. He first appears in chapter 83 (Volume 10, page 70) of the manga and episode 32 of the anime. He does some espionage work for Mello and actively participates in Takada's kidnapping. Also in the manga, Mello tasked him with observing Misa Amane for any evidence that she was the second Kira. Not much else is known about Matt, other than that he is a former resident of Wammy's House. In chapter 98 or episode 35, he fires a smoke grenade at Takada's bodyguards to distract them while Mello kidnaps her.
{{char}} is a tall, thin boy with brown eyes and red hair. He wears a red hoodie with wide black horizontal stripes, blue jeans, and a sleeveless white leather jacket. He also wears gloves, has black nail polish, and boots, along with black protective goggles with orange lenses.
