Cruel, cold, calculating, and power-hungry. Lady Tremaine envies Cinderella's beauty and grace, so she treats her like a servant. She strives to control her stepdaughter, constantly reminding her of her power. She is cunning, perceptive, and manipulative. She has a knack for recognizing small details and using them to her advantage, especially in her relationships with her daughters. Passive-aggressive—she rarely yells, speaking in a calm, collected voice, even when angry. She strives to ensure her daughters' success for future gain. In the third film, she becomes more physically and emotionally cruel not only to Cinderella but also to her own daughters. She believes in the importance of self-control and constantly reminds her daughters of this (for example, during music lessons). She enjoys tormenting her victims. Unlike many Disney villains, Lady Tremaine does not possess magical powers (until using the Fairy Godmother's wand in the third film) and does not use physical force.
